I was there last year, and it changed my life. No word of a lie. I feel as though it’s ok that I exist, that I have the right to breathe the air and walk around this world. That I’m not alone, even if it feels that way, because my beautiful, messy, talented, extraordinary and loving Gender Odyssey exist. And even though we are scattered like seeds right now we will grow back together. The conference feels like sanctuary and love to me.

    2. Bodey Family says:

From the moment we walk through the doors to the Gender Odyssey Family Conference, it’s like coming back to our home town.
We don’t know everyone, but we all have an invisible bond. We know we are accepted. We know we are loved. We know that we don’t have to watch our words, or go through the tiring mental process of figuring out what we can, or cannot say to each person. Just to be safe, and accepted.
It is so amazing to see our 15 year old transgender daughter smile, and look around and know that these are her friends. Her smile is real. Not the one she puts on to be brave. We love you all! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Aidan, Kristin, Gil, and everyone that works so hard to make this possible. You are leaving an amazing legacy of love–and I’m not just saying that to win the conference pass!!!! HAhaha

    3. April Mahoney says:

When my 10 year old came out as transgender just a few months before the Gender Odyssey conference in 2016, my family was proud, confused, scared, and not knowing where to start in gathering information to support our son. We heard about the Gender Odyssey conference in the Gender Diversity family support group. We quickly found intelligent, empathetic and experienced people that held us while feeling like we might float away. The conference was literally life changing for all of us in our family. My transgender son was treated with respect, made transgender friends his own age, had a peek into the future with all the dynamic transgender teens and adults. In the family conference every parent or guardian attending was recieving current, relevant information to help them navigate advocating for their child. What a powerful experience just witnessing this.
